Commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen with a special presentation by Tina Jesson of Tina's Traditional Old English Kitchen. Tina will speak on the history of afternoon tea, including the journey from China via Victorian England to the Present Day USA. This is a unique insight into how Tea traveled from China and around Europe, how the Victorian Tea Time was created and how Tea became the British National Drink, the emergence of the humble Tea Room, the surprising difference between high tea and afternoon tea, & how Tea Rooms have developed in the USA in more recent years. Samples will be provided. Registration on website is required. Ages 18 and over.
